Cowgirls Fall At Iowa State, 74-63

AMES, Iowa — Oklahoma States women's basketball team dropped its season series with Iowa State after suffering a 74-63 loss on Wednesday night in front of 9,383 fans inside Hilton Coliseum.
The Cowgirls couldn't overcome a cold shooting night from the floor, hitting just 33 percent of their shots from the floor, while the Cyclones connected on 43 percent, including an 11-of-24 effort from the 3-point line.
Despite hitting just four of its 20 shots in the first quarter, OSU trailed by just six at 17-11.
The Cyclones used back-to-back treys to extend the margin to double figures at 30-20 at the halfway point of the second before taking a 41-30 lead at the break.
Junior Vivian Gray drilled a 3-pointer to cap a 6-0 run to get OSU within five to start the third before the Cyclones would eventually push the margin back to 11 with 10 minutes remaining.
The Cowgirls got a steal by sophomore Ja'Mee Asberry and layup at the other end by Gray with 3:22 to play in the fourth to cut the Cyclone lead to 63-57, but could get no closer.
Gray finished with a team-high 22 points to go with five rebounds, four assists and three steals. Classmate Natasha Mack added 18 points and 12 rebounds.
The Cowgirls will be back in action on Saturday when they host West Virginia at 2 p.m.
