STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State's women's basketball team ran its record to 2-0 on Wednesday evening with a 68-34 win over Southern inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.

Both sides were sluggish in the first half offensively with the Cowgirls taking a 14-10 lead through the first 10 minutes before the Jaguars (0-2) would draw even in the second quarter to send the two teams into the break knotted at 20.

The Cowgirls would hold Southern to a pair of single-digit quarters in the second half and outscore their opponent by a 48-14 count.

OSU used a 14-0 run to close the third period to take a 43-28 lead with 10 minutes to go.

Sophomore Lauren Fields led all scorers with 15 points and was joined in double figures by senior Natasha Mack, who added 10 points and nine boards. Additionally, she blocked the 100th shot of her career, becoming the fastest player in program to reach the mark. She needed just 29 games.

The Cowgirls will be back in action on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. when they host Alabama.
