Cowgirl Tennis Shines on First Day of Fall Series Championships

STILLWATER- Oklahoma State's women's tennis team had an excellent start to the Fall Series Championships on Friday at the Greenwood Tennis Center. OSU advanced four Cowgirls to the semifinals in singles and three doubles teams to the quarterfinals.
OSU showed it belonged toward the top of the conference after defeating many talents from across the Big 12 Conference. The Cowgirls were well represented in the singles quarterfinals. Bunywai Thamchaiwat, Ayumi Miyamoto, Alana Wolfberg, Dariya Detkovskaya, Lenka Stara and Daniella Medvedeva all advanced.
In the quarterfinals, Daniella Medvedeva defeated Iowa States Ellie Murphy, 6-0, 6-2, and Dariya Detkovskaya defeated Kansas States Manami Ukita, 6-0, 6-2, to advance to the singles semifinals in three different flights. Bunywai Thamchaiwat defeated Herrero of Baylor 6-2, 7-5, and Alana Wolfberg defeated Kansas's Ngounoue 4-6, 6-1, 10-3 to also advanced.
