Cowgirl Equestrian Signs 2020 Recruiting Class

STILLWATER — Oklahoma State's Equestrian team has added nine members to the program in its latest recruiting class, which includes six Western and three Jumping Seat riders.
"We are very excited about our 2021 signing class," head coach Larry Sanchez said. "They will bring loads of talent to our team and ensure our success in the arena and in the classroom."
The Cowgirls signed three Horsemanship riders. Lauren Pursley, from College Station, Texas, was a 2020 AQHA Youth World Cup Member, IEA Horsemanship National Champion and multi-time Texas State Horsemanship Champion. The Pokes also signed Lily Richardson from Duvall, Wash., the Congress Champion NYATT Hunt Seat Equitation. Rounding out the list is Peyton Baxter, from Rockford, Mich. Baxter joins the Cowgirls as the 2019 AQHA Hunter Under Saddle High Point.
The Cowgirls also signed a group of extremely talented Reiners, including Lydia Bell, the 2020 AQHA Youth World Reining level 3 top 10. Out of Westcliffe, Colo., the Cowgirls signed Bo Van Duys, who was the 2019 AQHA Reining 18 & Under High Point Champion. OSU also inked Quincee Clark from Doddsville, Miss., who comes in as the NRCHA Youth Limited World Champion and plans to major in Pre-med/biology.
In Jumping Seat, OSU signed Mackenzie Carreras out of Chandler, Ariz., who was a North American Young Rider Championship qualifier and winner of the USHJA North American Junior and Young Rider farewell competition in 2019; she was also in the Top 25 Dover Hunt Seat Medal Finals in 2020. Riley Hogan also cast her lot with the Cowgirls and comes to ride collegiately after being the USEF Junior Hunter Finals Overall Grand Champion 3'3" in 2020 and the Reserve Champion Zone 3 Horse of the Year 3'3" Small Junior Hunters in 2019. Rounding out the class is Catherine O'Connor out of Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. O'Connor won first place at the CET Regional Medal Finals in 2019 and was also first overall among OHJA Low Junior Jumpers in 2019.
