STILLWATER - Oklahoma State fell to 12th-ranked TCU in overtime Friday night as the No. 4 Cowgirls had their 12-game regular season unbeaten streak snapped with a 2-1 loss in front of a capacity crowd at Neal Patterson Stadium.
TCU netted the golden goal just 30 seconds into the extra period as OSU fell to 3-1-1 on the season. TCU improved to 3-0-1.
The Cowgirls captured an early lead in the contest thanks to the first-career goal for Hannah Webb, who delivered a high-arching shot over TCU goalie Emily Alvarado to the far post to put the home team up 1-0 in the 23rd minute.
OSU clung to the 1-0 advantage until the 86th minute when TCU finally ended the Cowgirls' shutout bid. Maddy Warren converted the equalizer off an assist from Grace Collins to knot the score at 1-1 with just 4:03 remaining in regulation.
The Horned Frogs got the game winner from Brandi Peterson early in the extra period as she delivered a shot from the top of the box past OSU keeper Emily Plotz, who ended the night with four saves.
OSU finished the match with a 19-14 edge in shots, but Alvarado came up with seven saves, including a key stop on a header by Camy Huddleston just moments before TCU's equalizer.
The loss also snapped the Cowgirls' home unbeaten streak, which stood at 13 (12-0-1) dating back to the 2018 season.
OSU returns to action Friday at Kansas.
