OSU Football Jumps Into Top 10

STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State football team soared into the top-10 in both major polls released Sunday. The Cowboys are ranked No. 10 in the Associated Press Top 25 and the USA Today Coaches Poll.
The Cowboys have now seen a top-10 ranking in the AP poll at some point in nine of the past 13 seasons. This is the first time OSU has been ranked in the top 10 since week 12 of the 2017 season.
Eight ranked teams in last week's polls lost on Saturday with six of them coming to unranked opponents. OSU took advantage of the opportunity given by defeating Kansas 47-7 on its way to moving up seven spots in the AP poll and nine spots in the coaches poll.
It was OSU's highest jump in the AP poll since moving from No. 24 to No. 15 following the third game of the 2018 season.

Oklahoma State is the highest ranked Big 12 team in both of the major polls followed by No. 22 Texas and No. 24 Iowa State. Kansas State, Oklahoma and West Virginia are Big 12 teams receiving votes while OSU's first opponent, Tulsa, is gaining votes after beating UCF Saturday.
The Cowboys will have a week off before heading on the road again to face Baylor on Oct. 17.
