Cowgirl Tennis Finishes the Weekend Strong at the Big 12 Series

NORMAN, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's tennis team competed at the Big 12 Series this weekend at the University of Oklahoma.
The Cowgirls took six out of eight matches on Sunday. On the weekend, OSU won three out of five doubles matches and 10 of 13 in singles action, going 13 of 18 overall.
"It was a solid weekend for our girls," OSU head coach Chris Young said. "It was a lot of fun to compete again, and while we didn't play our best at times, we often found a way to win the match. We definitely have a competitive group, and we can build on this weekend."
Bunyawi Thamchaiwat went undefeated and was crowned the events singles champion.
On Sunday, five Cowgirls picked up singles victories, including Ayumi Miyamoto, Bunyawi Thamchaiwat, Daria Detkovskaya, who all went undefeated this tournament.
Bunyawi Thamchaiwat defeated TCU's Alisa Soloveva, 4-2, and Alana Wolfberg defeated TCU's Marie Norris, 6-2, 6-4. Daniella Medvedeva picked up a win against Oklahoma's Kianah Motosono, 5-7, 7-6 (4), 1-0 [5]. Ayumi Miyamoto defeated OU's Carmen Corley, 5-7, 6-2, 1-0 [8], and Daria Detkovskaya beat TCU's Margaret Polk 6-7 (5), 6-3, 1-0 [5].
