Cowgirl Tennis Competes at Big 12 Series in Norman

NORMAN, Okla.- Oklahoma State's women's tennis team competed at the Big 12 Series on Saturday at the University of Oklahoma.Â
The Cowgirls played 10 matches on the day, seven singles and three doubles. OSU won five out of seven matches in singles and took two out of three in doubles action.
"IÂ am proud of our girls for the way they competed today," OSU head coach Chris Young said. "It was a lot of fun to be back on the court as a team and competing together, and our girls did a good job, and we look forward to another opportunity tomorrow to compete and improve."
Lenka Stara and Bunyawi Thamchaiwat defeated Arkansas' Tatum Rice and Lauren Alter, 6-2. Alana Wolfberg and Dariya Detkovskaya picked up a doubles win, defeating Martina Zerulo and Kelly Keller, 7-5.Â
Bunyawi Thamchaiwat defeated Arkansas' Indianna Spink, 6-3, 6-4, while Lenka Stara defeated Tatum Rice, 6-4, 6-4. Dariya Detkovskaya defeated Lauren Alter, 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 [2]. Returning All-Americans Lisa Marie Rioux and Ayumi Miyamoto also picked up individual wins to start the season. Rioux defeated Kelly Keller, 6-3, 6-4 and Miyamoto defeated Morgan Cross, 5-7, 7-6 (5), 1-0 [6].
