Cowgirl Tennis Competes In Day Two Of USTA Orlando Invite

ORLANDO, Fla. – Oklahoma State's Bunyawi Thamchaiwat, Dariya Detkovskaya, Alana Wolfberg and Catherine Gulihur resumed singles play on Saturday at the USTA Orlando Invite.
Thamchaiwat took on the defending NCAA singles champion Estela Perez-Somarriba of the University of Miami in the quarterfinal match, falling, 6-2, 6-4. Detkovskaya defeated Amber O'Dell of Virginia in the consolation quarterfinals and came out victorious, 6-1, 6-7(5), 6-2. Gulihur lost to McCartney Kessler, also of Florida, in her consolation quarterfinal match, 6-2, 3-6, 6-2. Finally, freshman Cowgirl Alana Wolfberg went up against Marlee Zein of Florida in her first consolation match but would lose, 7-6, 6-2.
Each Cowgirl went on to compete in the consolation semifinals of the tournament beginning with Thamchaiwat. She would drop her match to Sofia Munera of Virginia, 7-5, 1-6, 1-0(8). Following Thamchaiwat, Gulihur defeated Central Florida's Domenika Turkovic in three sets, 3-6, 6-2, 1-0(11). Wolfberg lost to Irina Cantos Siemers of Ohio State in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2. North Carolina State's Adriana Reami defeated Dariya Detkovskaya in the final match of the day for the Cowgirls, 7-5, 6-2.
