Cowgirls Host South Dakota State in Home Opener

   The fourth-ranked Cowgirl equestrian team looks to take their home opener against the South Dakota State Jackrabbits. OSU is coming off a weekend in Martin, Tenn. where they defeated No. 10 UT Martin, and narrowly lost to the defending champion Auburn Tigers.Â
About the Cowgirls
   The Cowgirls (1-0, 0-0 Big 12) are led by 21st-year head coach Larry Sanchez, first-year assistants Laura Brainard and Olivia Dorey and director of operations Kate Pollard. Caroline Becker is on the staff as a graduate assistant.Â

Who to Watch For                                                      Â
Katie Schell: A returning junior, who is 2-0 on the year in flat and 1-1 in fences, received MOP honors in both flat and fences against UT Martin.Â
Emma Verplank: A returning All-American in Horsemanship and team captain, earned MOP honors against No. 1 Auburn.Â
Hannah Mitchell: Team captain Hannah Mitchell remains undefeated on the season posting wins against UT Martin and Auburn.Â
Freshmen: Gentry Cherry and JoJo Roberson both received MOP honors against UT Martin.
