STILLWATER – Oklahoma State remained undefeated on the season Sunday as the 14^th-ranked Cowgirls battled SMU to a 2-2 tie at Neal Patterson Stadium.

At the conclusion of non-conference play, OSU sports a 7-0-2 record; the Cowgirls open Big 12 Conference play Thursday night at Texas Tech before a Sunday afternoon showdown at TCU.

Against SMU, defender Kim Rodriguez gave the Cowgirls a 1-0 lead in the 36^th minute on an impressive 24-yard free kick that bounced off the Mustangs' defensive wall and past goalkeeper Tatum Sutherland. The goal was the second of the season for Rodriguez.

OSU increased its lead to 2-0 in the 50^th minute. Charmé Morgan made a run up the right wing and delivered a perfect cross through the box to Grace Yochum, who headed the ball to the back of the net. Yochum's goal was her fifth of the season, which ranks second on the Cowgirls.

Ten minutes later, SMU (7-1-1) responded with its first goal on a 21-yard free kick from Celiana Torres to reduce the Cowgirls' lead to 2-1 in the 60^th minute. The goal marked the first OSU conceded at home this season.

The Cowgirls looked poised to escape with a 2-1 victory, but with the clock winding down in regulation, SMU's Isabelle Nashmi made a run down the field and fired a 22-yard bomb top shelf to force overtime with only one second remaining in the match.

OSU came out strong in the first overtime period and recorded three shots. The best chance came off a header in the 94^th minute from Julia Leinhardt, whose shot nearly found the back of the net but was headed away by an SMU defender.

Both teams recorded one shot in the second overtime as the Mustangs finished with a 10-9 advantage in shots in the match, while OSU owned a 6-5 edge in corner kicks.

The game proved to be a physical one as SMU finished with 19 fouls and a pair of yellow cards; the Cowgirls were whistled for six fouls and also issued a caution.
