Cowgirl Tennis Named ITA ALL-Academic Team

STILLWATER –Oklahoma State's women's tennis team was named to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's 2019 All-Academic team on Thursday, with each team member also earning individual ITA All-Academic status.
That list of athletes included decorated seniors Sofia Blanco, Marina Guinart and Katarina Stresnkaova, who also were named to the 2019 Academic All-Big 12 team in April. Additionally, Blanco's final season with the Cowgirls saw her earn CoSIDA's Google Cloud Academic team honor as well as the NCAA Elite 90 award. Stresnakova was named the Big 12's Women's Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year at the conclusion of the season.
Other players to earn the honor include Katelyn Blumenthal, Lora Boggs, Sami Court, Saralyn Dyer and Catherine Gulihur.
In 2019 the ITA saw an increase in qualifying teams and student-athletes. Thousands of athletes and 940 teams earned the award.
All-Academic teams boast a collective GPA of 3.20 or higher. ITA scholar-athletes must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letter winner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for a least two semesters (including freshman through senior year).
