Incoming Freshmen Collect Summer Accolades

STILLWATER – Six Oklahoma State equestrian incoming freshmen are finding success during summer competition.
Sydney North won the USEF medal and ASPCA Maclay back-to-back weekends at the Fairfield Hunt-Club and Fieldstone Show Park. She is a junior hunter champion in shows put on by Horse Shows In The Sun, a nationally recognized and leading producer of hunter/jumper horse shows. This included the East Junior/AO classic, where she earned the top score in both rounds. She also won the high children's jumper speed class at HITS Saugerties and qualified for ASPCA Maclay Regionals and the New England finals.
After multiple days of competing, Emily Maul was named Circuit Champion in Level 3 Horsemanship at the Redbud Spectacular in Oklahoma City. She scored the most points throughout the entire circuit, which included eight judges over three different rides.
JoJo Roberson also garnered a first-place finish at the Red Bud Spectacular. In a field of more than 30 riders, she placed 1st and 2nd in Level 3 Horsemanship after a strong showing on the final day.
Hope King qualified for the United States Equestrian Federation Medal Finals and Maclay Regionals after claiming the USEF Medal last week. King finished 2nd overall in the Washington International Horse Show two weeks in a row and placed in the top three of medal and Maclay every week at the Tryon International.
Emma Pacyna placed second in the Washington at the Devon Horse Show and won the Washington and Maclay at Tryon.
Molly Mitchell, sister of OSU All-American and team captain Hannah Mitchell, competed at the National Reining Horse Association Derby and made the non-pro finals.
