STILLWATER – Oklahoma State women's tennis expanded its highly-touted class of 2019 on Thursday with the addition of Dariya Detkovskaya and Chelsea Vanhoutte.
Tennis Recruiting Network ranked the Cowgirl 2019 class No. 4 in the country when it consisted of Alana Wolfberg and Ayumi Miyamoto, who both signed last fall.
Kazakhstan's Detkovskaya earned as high as the No. 187 singles ranking among International Tennis Federation juniors as well as a Women's Tennis Association ranking of No. 868 in singles and No. 784 in doubles. She comes in at No. 436 and No. 219 in the World ITF polls.
"I am thrilled to have Dariya join us," OSU head coach Chris Young said. "I love her competitive spirit and look forward to working with her next season. With Dariya and Chealsea we have added two very strong players to an already good class, and I can't wait to begin working with them."
Vanhoutte comes to Stillwater from Belgium and has an ITF World ranking of No. 30 in doubles and No. 750 in singles. The future Cowgirl has won two $15,000 doubles titles and has reached four $15,000 doubles finals this year.
"I'm really looking forward to starting in this amazing program and to be part of the team," Vanhoutte said. "I'm convinced that the coaching and training staff will help me reach the best of my potential and will bring me to a higher level. I'm so excited, and I'm ready to share the OSU values of hard work and dedication."
Young said he was equally as excited to add Vanhoutte to the Cowgirl roster.
"I love her passion and desire to be a Cowgirl," Young said. "She got to experience the team atmosphere at the MastersU event this year, and I believe she will bring a lot to our program," Young said. "She has big goals for her future, and we look forward to helping her achieve them."
