Four Cowgirls Earn All-Region Honors

STILLWATER – Four members of the Oklahoma State softball team received NFCA All-Midwest Region honors Thursday, highlighted by Samantha Show and Michaela Richbourg both being selected as first-team performers.
Their selections, along with Madi Sue Montgomery and Rylee Bayless being slotted with the second team, marks the third-straight year that OSU has had four players named to the All-Region teams.
Show and Richbourg lead the Cowgirls this season with 17 and 13 home runs, respectively. They are the first pair of teammates to record 30 or more home runs collectively in a single season, and Show's 17 home runs rank as the highest single-season total in school history.
The senior is currently batting .335 and leads the Cowgirls with 50 runs batted in, 115 total bases and a .728 slugging percentage. Show has also been a dynamic force for the Pokes in the circle, as she leads OSU in earned run average (2.47), wins (17), appearances (30), starts (25), complete games (16), shutouts (6), innings pitched (153.0), strikeouts (97) and opponent batting average (.227).
Richbourg, meanwhile, is batting. 304 to go along with 37 runs batted in, and her 13 home runs are the most ever by a sophomore in Oklahoma State history.
The Cowgirls' two second-team selections have been extremely productive as well, with Montgomery's .359 batting average leading the team this season. She has reached based at a .454 clip, bagged 14 doubles, hit six home runs and driven in 43 baserunners. Last weekend, she supplanted her former teammate, Vanessa Shippy, as OSU's career leader in games played, games started and consecutive games started (235), and she has never missed at game while competing for Oklahoma State.
Bayless is hot on Montgomery's tail with a .342 batting average that she pairs with an impressive .480 batting average and a slugging percentage that sits a .601. The left-handed hitter has racked up 13 doubles, two triples and eight home runs, as well as stealing 14 bases and walking a Big 12-best 39 times this year.
OSU's four All-Region honorees, as well as the rest of the Cowgirl squad, are set to open up the NCAA Stillwater Regional tonight against BYU. First pitch is set for 7:30 p.m. CT on ESPN3.
