STILLWATER – The NCAA Tournament is set to make its first regional stop in Stillwater since 1998 this weekend, but there is a wealth of history for the postseason's premier event when it comes to games being played in the confines of Payne County. Here's a look at our NCAA Regional history in Stillwater:
1982 NCAA Regional | Stillwater, Okla.

In five of those seasons – 1982, 1988, 1993, 1994 and 1995, to be exact – Oklahoma State went on to compete in the Women's College World Series just 60 miles down the road in Oklahoma City. The Pokes have gone 14-4 in their 18 Stillwater-based regional contests over the years, and the Cowgirls have advanced beyond regional play in five of the seven previous instances that they have hosted.
It's a stacked field coming to Stillwater this weekend, so advancing to the program's first super regional since 2011 will be a tall task for the Cowgirls, but they have shown this year that no challenge is too great to overcome.
The NCAA Stillwater Regional is set to get underway Thursday night at 5 p.m. CT, when Arkansas and Tulsa face off. OSU and BYU will follow the opening game with a start time of no earlier than 7:30 p.m. CT.
