Show Earns First Big 12 Weekly Honor

IRVING, Texas – Oklahoma State softball senior Samantha Show was named the Big 12 Co-Player of the Week for the first time in her brief Cowgirl career, the league office announced Tuesday morning. She shared the honor with Oklahoma's Jocelyn Alo.
Show, a transfer from Texas A&M, was previously named the SEC Pitcher of the Week on Feb. 27, 2017, during her time in College Station. Tuesday's announcement marks the third time this season, and the ninth time during Kenny Gajewski's tenure as head coach, that a Cowgirl has earned one of the Big 12's weekly awards.
This past week, Show tore through her opposition and took the softball world by storm, again, thanks to her incredible feats on the field and fiery emotions on display.
She recorded a hit in all four of the Cowgirls' contests last weekend, capped by a three-run walk-off home run that sealed OSU's three-game sweep of No. 13 Texas Tech in Stillwater. The walk-off shot was Show's 15th home run of the season, tying her for the school's single-season record (Madi Sue Montgomery, 2018).
Beyond her thunderous blast, the right-handed hitter also had a number of notable performances last weekend, including a career-best three-walk outing against Tech on Saturday, and two complete-game showings in the circle over the weekend.
Show threw all seven innings of both Friday and Sunday's matchups against Texas Tech, just two days removed from a one-inning appearance against North Texas. She struck out eight Red Raider batters and allowed only two extra-base hits in 15 total innings last week.
The frontline starter has tossed 51 2/3 of a possible 68 innings against top-15 opponents for Oklahoma State this season, helping the Cowgirls go 7-3 in those matchups.
She has also posted three complete-game shutouts against ranked competition in 2019, as she held No. 13 Arizona State, No. 24 Oregon and No. 9 Texas off the board at varying points of the year.
As mentioned previously, Show is the third Cowgirl to receive one of the Big 12's weekly awards this season. Samantha Clakley was named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week on April 2, and Rylee Bayless brought home Co-Player of the Week honors on April 16.
