NCEA Announces All-Academic Teams

WACO, Texas – Twenty-seven Oklahoma State student-athletes are featured on the 2019 Farnam NCEA All-Academic Teams and the American Paint Horse Association Academic Honor Roll, it was announced by the NCEA.
First-team honorees must have competed in a minimum of 70 percent of their school's meets, not including demo or exhibition rides. Riders must also earn a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous spring and fall semesters.
Named to the NCEA All-Academic First Team from Oklahoma State were Maddie Bender, Stephanie Helsen, Hannah Janson, Sarah Miller, Katie Schell, Emma Verplank and Kristi Wiggins.
Second-team recipients must have competed in a minimum of 60 percent of their school's meets, not including demo or exhibition rides. They also must earn a cumulative GPA of 3.25 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous spring and fall semesters.
OSU had a pair of NCEA All-Academic Second Team honorees in Abigail Brayman and Hunter De Jane.
Riders who earn Honorable Mention status must have competed in a minimum of 50 percent of their school's meets, not including demo or exhibition rides. These student-athletes must also earn a cumulative GPA of 3.00 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous Spring and Fall semesters.
Earning NCEA Honorable Mention accolades for the Cowgirls were Molly Dunn and Cassidy Wilbourn.
Sixteen Cowgirls were named to the APHA Academic Honor Roll, with the top academic student athletes who have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.25 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous spring and fall semesters earning that distinction.
OSU honorees for the APHA Academic Honor Roll included Mattie Alewine, Amanda Atkins, Anna Baird, Mackenzie Chapman, Sarah Clymer, Megan Donald, Sydnee Gemar, Taylor Hickam, Paige Kemper, Kalin Koechel, Kinsey McDougald, Addie Minnick, Lauren Moorhead, Kathryn Rippetoe, Caitlyn Sanchez and Amber Smith.
