WACO, Texas – Oklahoma State equestrian was seeded No. 4 for the NCEA Championships, the NCEA Selection committee announced Tuesday.
The Cowgirls (7-6) face off against the fifth-seeded SMU Mustangs in the opening round portion of the team bracket. The NCEA's current format, now in its second year, features the top eight teams for the overall championship.
Additionally, the expanded format includes team-seeded brackets for the four individual events.
OSU claimed the second seed in Reining and earned a bye in the first round. The Reining squad awaits the winner of No. 7 UT Martin and No. 10 Delaware State.
The Horsemanship team also secured a first-round bye en route to being the three seed. OSU faces the winner of six-seed Baylor and 11th-seeded South Dakota State.
Both of OSU's Hunt Sear events were named six seeds.
OSU's Fences squad has a rematch with 11th-seeded Baylor in the first round. The Cowgirls recently took a 3-2 advantage over the Bears in round three of the Big 12 Championship.
The Flat team will meet 11th-seeded Sweet Briar College for the first time in its first-round matchup.
NCEA Championship competition begins on April 17 in Waco, Texas, at the Extraco Events Center.
