STILLWATER — Oklahoma State posted a 4-1 win over Rogers State in its first exhibition match of the spring Saturday at Neal Patterson Stadium.
Three different Cowgirls recorded goals in the contest, with Ally Jackson tallying a pair of scores and Gabriella Coleman and Grace Yochum also finding the back of the net.
In a game divided into three 30-minute periods, OSU took the first lead 15 minutes in when Coleman delivered a low ball to the near post that Yochum was able to finish for a 1-0 Cowgirls' lead.
Rogers State, coached by former OSU three-time All-American Yolanda (Odenyo) Thomas, drew even with the Cowgirls early in the second period when the Hillcats intercepted an errant pass from an OSU defender and chipped OSU goalie Hannah Warner from the top of the penalty box.
Six minutes later, OSU would go back on top for good on a goal by Coleman as she tapped in a low cross to the back post from Yochum to put the home team up 2-1. Late in the period, Jackson made it 3-1 when she collected her first goal on an assist from Hannah Webb.
OSU's final goal came with just over 11 minutes remaining when Jackson took a pass from Coleman and struck a low shot to the back post for a goal.
The Cowgirls return to action Saturday when they host Central Oklahoma at noon at Neal Patterson Stadium.
