Rioux Collects Weekly Big 12 Honors

STILLWATER – Cowgirl tennis' Lisa Marie Rioux was named Co-Big 12 Tennis Player of the Week on Wednesday after earning MVP honors at the Blue Gray Tennis Classic over the weekend.
The Cowgirl dominated the field, besting all of her opponents and winning two of three doubles matches with partner Marina Guinart. The Okinawa, Japan native dominated each singles match, defeating Texas Tech's Francesca Sella and knocking off No. 96 Anna Ulyashchenko of Wake Forest. She allowed only three points to her opponents on Saturday as the Cowgirls swept the Red Raiders and Demon Deacons en route to the first-place finish.
Rioux sits at 7-2 on the season in singles play and remains ranked in doubles with Sofia Blanco at No. 32. She and Guinart are 6-4 in doubles action.
She is the first Cowgirl to receive the honor this season and shares this week's award with Kansas senior Anastasia Rychagova.
