Cowgirl Softball Continues Top-20 Residency

STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State softball team continued to hold a spot in the top 20 of this week's rankings, as the Cowgirls checked in at No. 21 in the USA Today/NFCA Coaches Poll and at No. 18 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25.
It is the third straight week that the Cowgirls have held a top-20 ranking in at least one of the national polls. OSU has also now been ranked in at least one of the national polls in 15 of the last 17 weeks, peaking as high as No. 15 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25 on Feb. 13, 2018.
The Cowgirls are off to a 10-5 start to the 2019 season - the program's best since posting the same 15-game record in 2014. Seven of those victories have come against teams that were either ranked or receiving votes, which included two wins over top-15 opponents (No. 13 Kentucky & No. 13 Arizona State).
It is the first time that OSU has defeated two top-15 opponents in its first 15 games since 2005, when the Cowgirls bested No. 13 Oregon and No. 3 UCLA.
The Pokes are set to host their first games in Stillwater this weekend, as the Cowgirls welcome Seattle, Syracuse, McNeese State and Northern Iowa to the friendly confines of Cowgirl Stadium. OSU's first pitch of the OSU/Tulsa Invitational is set for 2:30 p.m. CT on Friday.
