STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State's women's basketball team closed out its non-conference schedule on Monday with an 84-41 victory over Duquesne in front of 1,796 fans inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
The Cowgirls improved to 9-3 with the win and snapped the Dukes' 10-game winning streak. Duquesne fell to 10-3 on the year.
Neither team could get going offensively in the first period with the Cowgirls holding a 12-6 advantage.
OSU continued to be stingy on the defensive end in the second quarter, holding the Dukes to just four points for the Cowgirls' fourth single-digit quarter in their last five periods. OSU led 34-10 at the break.
The Cowgirls opened the third on a 6-0 run before Vivian Gray hit back-to-back buckets to push the margin to 54-19. The baskets by the junior resulted in her third consecutive 20-point outing. Gray finished with a game-high 23 to go with four rebounds, four steals and a career-high nine assists.
Classmate Natasha Mack added 21 points and 11 rebounds for her 10th double-double of the season.
OSU will open conference play on Jan. 4 at 2 p.m. against Kansas in Stillwater.
