Quotes: OSU vs Minnesota
December 21, 2019 | Cowboy Basketball
Oklahoma State head coach Mike Boynton
Opening Statement:
"Minnesota just outplayed us. I think watching that game from start to finish, maybe something worse, one of the worst things you can say about your team after any game is that the other team play harder than you did. Unfortunately I have to stand here and be honest and say that was the case that Minnesota played harder and therefore deserve to win."
On bad practices carrying over to games:
"There is always carried over from practice. That's the way I believe, I've always believed that. I definitely think there was a residual impact from Thursday's practice to today's performance. There result was what it was."
"What we've got to learn how to do is handle prosperity. I don't want to say it's easy to respond when your back is against the wall, but most do respond when their back is against the wall. We've seen that from our team, we saw it last Sunday in Houston. What we haven't done is dealt with success well. It's evident today, and with last week's practices that we have to be a team that learns how to handle success and we're still not there yet."
On dealing with success:
"You keep talking about it. To be quite honest, we've accomplished very little. We've had some success, we've had eight wins. We played some really good teams, we've had a good schedule to this point. We lost to a good team today. But in the big picture we're still a long way away from accomplishing real meaningful goals. So we have to continue to understand where the bar is and not allow ourselves to get distracted on the way on how things are going well."
