October 08, 2019 | Cowboy Cross Country & Track
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's Ashenafi Hatte was named men's Big 12 Runner of the Week for his performance at the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Arkansas, over the weekend.
Hatte finished in third-place overall and first among collegiate entries in the men's 8K race on Saturday. The 2018 All-American finished in a time of 23:46.1 to lead the Cowboys to a third-place team finish.
This marks the second-career conference runner of the week honor for Hatte, who was honored after winning the Arturo Barrios Invitational in College Station, Texas, last year.
This was the first Big 12 Runner of the Week honor for OSU since Hatte's last selection when former Cowgirl Sinclaire Johnson was also recognized for her win at the Arturo Barrios Invitational.
The Pokes travel to Terre Haute, Indiana, next for the Pre-National Invitational on October 19.
