Mitchell, Schell and Verplank Selected as Big 12 Riders of the Month

IRVING, Texas – Hannah Mitchell, Katie Schell and Emma Verplank of Oklahoma State's fourth-ranked Equestrian team earned Big 12 Rider of the Month Honors for September to add to the NCEA Riders of the Month accolades they collected last week.
Mitchell won the title of Reining Rider of the Month after posting a 3-0 record with one MOP in September. The senior set her season-high score with a 75.5 against South Dakota State in an MOP performance.
Schell earned recognition as the Flat Rider of the Month after going 3-0 in the discipline. The sophomore has averaged a score of 83 on the season while earning an MOP in Flat and another in Fences.
Verplank was named the Horsemanship Rider of the Month as she remained undefeated in horsemanship (3-0), and the senior received MOP honors for her season-high 78 against top-ranked Auburn.
The Cowgirls turned in an impressive first month of the season as they won three of the four NCEA and Big 12 Rider of the Month Awards for September.
