Miyamoto And Rioux Advance To Doubles Semifinals

NORMAN, Okla. – The Cowgirl duo of Ayumi Miyamoto and Lisa-Marie Rioux won their quarterfinal match at the Norman $15K on Thursday, propelling them into the semifinals of doubles play which will take place on Friday.
Miyamoto and Rioux defeated Dominique Schaefer and Katya Townsend, a sophomore at Texas A&M, in their quarterfinal match. The Cowgirls took Townsend and Schaefer down in straight sets, 6-0, 7-5.
Rioux and Miyamoto will compete in their semifinal match on Friday afternoon. They will take on the second-seeded duo in the tournament, Kelly Williford and Amy Zhu. Williford and Zhu defeated Emma Davis and Alicia Herrero Linana on Thursday, 3-6, 6-3, 10-7.
