WILMINGTON, N.C. – A bogey-free, four-under par 68 from Isabella Fierro moved the freshman into a tie for second place and helped the Oklahoma State women's golf team move into a tie for fourth place with 18 holes to play at The Landfall Tradition.
Fierro's 68 marked the fourth time in her last five rounds that she turned in a scorecard in the 60s. Fierro birdied four of her first five holes and finished with mistake-free golf over her final 13 holes. She is just two strokes behind the individual leader, Alabama's Angelica Moresco, with one round remaining.
As a team, the Cowgirls shot a 1-over par 289 second round and to 5-over par overall. Alabama is atop the team leaderboard at 12-under par. Sunday's final round is slated to begin at 7:45 a.m. CT.
Lianna Bailey remained at even par for the tournament after shooting another 72. After carding a 72 in the first round, Han-Hsuan Yu shot a 1-over par 73 and sits in a tie for 17th place.
Hailey Jones carded a 76 and is tied for 79th place. Michelle Forsland sits one stroke back of Jones at 13-over par after shooting an 82 in the second round.
