Three Cowgirls Continue Play In Norman $15K

NORMAN, Okla. – Oklahoma State's women's tennis team is being represented in the Norman $15K this week by Ayumi Miyamoto, Lisa-Marie Rioux and Dariya Detkovskaya. All three Cowgirls competed on Wednesday.
Miyamoto and Rioux are teaming up together in doubles play and went up against the No. 3 duo of Dalayna Hewitt and Sofia Sewing. The OSU team prevailed in a 3-6, 6-2, 10-3 victory in the round of 16. Detkovskaya also competed in doubles with her partner, Katarina Stresnakova, but lost to the top-seeded doubles team of Tiphanie Fiquet and Nika Kukharchuk, 7-6(5), 4-6, 10-8.
Detkovskaya played her first singles match of the tournament on Wednesday as well. She went up against Savannah Broadus and fell, 6-2, 6-2.
Miyamoto will compete on Thursday against Emma Davis in her second singles match. She will be the only Cowgirl to compete in singles play on Thursday. Miyamoto and Rioux will then play again in the doubles quarterfinal match against Katya Townsend and Dominique Schaefer.
