Cowgirls Split Opening Matches In Norman

NORMAN, Okla. – Oklahoma State's Ayumi Miyamoto, Dariya Detkovskaya and Lisa-Marie Rioux are competing in the Norman Open Series Women's $15K this week with Miyamoto and Rioux competing on Tuesday to open up play for the Cowgirls.
Rioux started the day off for the Cowgirls by going up against Lorraine Guillermo, who entered the tournament as the third seed in the main draw of singles. Rioux dropped her opening match to Guillermo, 6-4, 7-5.
In the second match of the day for the Cowgirls, Miyamoto faced off against as Skyler Miller. Miyamoto is the fifth seed in this tournament and proved why in an easy victory over Miller, 6-0, 6-0.
Detkovskaya will begin her tournament on Wednesday when she faces off against Savannah Broadus in the afternoon. Cowgirl doubles will begin on Wednesday as well when Miyamoto and Rioux team up to take on Dalayna Hewitt and Sofia Sewing, the third seed in doubles play. Detkovskaya will play with Katarina Stresnakova will face the No. 1 seed, Tiphanie Fiquet and Nika Kukharchuk.
