MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Oklahoma State's women's basketball team could not overcome a tough offensive night on Wednesday, suffering a 67-58 loss at West Virginia in front of 1,119 fans inside WVU Coliseum.
The Cowgirls fell to 10-4 overall and 1-2 in Big 12 play. The Mountaineers rose to 10-4 and 1-2.
OSU was held to a 28 percent effort from the floor and connected on just 35 percent of its 3-point attempts in the loss.
The Cowgirls led 17-13 at the end of one behind a pair of second-chance 3-pointers courtesy of sophomores Jaden Hobbs and Vivian Gray.
OSU extended to a nine-point lead in the second before WVU trimmed the margin to 26-23 at the break.
In the third, the Mountaineers outscored the Cowgirls to move in front, 41-36.
The Cowgirls clawed back to tie the score at 41 apiece with 8:26 to go, but the Mountaineers answered and eventually pushed the lead to 61-50 with a 7-0 run.
Sophomore Braxtin Miller scored 16 to lead OSU, while Gray added 15.
OSU will be back in action Jan. 12 when it hosts Texas Tech at 3 p.m.
