September 23, 2018 | Cowgirl Tennis
MILWAUKEE, Wisc. – Oklahoma State's Sofia Blanco and Catherine Gulihur upended Ivana Corley and Jasmine Asghar in a Bedlam finals match at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic on Sunday morning.
The Cowgirls took the single set from the Sooners, 8-3.
The victory marked the second OSU title of the weekend, after Lisa Marie Rioux secured the mixed doubles title at the Oracle ITA Masters.
"It was a great weekend overall," Cowgirl head coach Chris Young said. "I was extremely proud of the way our girls competed and represented themselves, which is a standard for our program. This gives us something to build on moving forward and a great start to the year to compete for three titles in one weekend and in two tournaments."
After besting Gulihur on Saturday, senior Marina Guinart dropped a close match to Silvia Ambrosio (Purdue), 6-3, 7-5, Sunday afternoon.
The Cowgirls will be in action next weekend at the ITA All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
