Cowgirls Kick off Fall Season on the Road

STILLWATER— Cowgirl tennis is in action for the first time this season with five players heading to two separate events beginning Thursday.Lisa Marie Rioux opens at the Oracle ITA Masters Tournament in Malibu, Calif., and Sofia Blanco, Katarina Stresnakova , Marina Guinart and Catherine Gulihur are headed to the ITA Milwaukee Classic.
Rioux makes her Cowgirl debut in Malibu after sitting out the 2017-18 season following her transfer from Mississippi State. The Oracle Masters is an event held for the best returning player from each conference with two wild cards allotted. Rioux was selected for one of those wild card spots.
At the 43rd Milwaukee Classic, Blanco, Stresnakova, Guinart and Gulihur can position themselves to appear at the ITA Fall National Championships as the winners in doubles and singles automatically advance.
The ITA and Oracle announced that the singles finals for the 2018 Oracle ITA Masters will be live on ESPN3 and ESPN the app, with the women kicking off at 1:30 p.m. CST.
