Carroll Signs Free Agent Deal With Lakers
June 22, 2018 | Cowboy Basketball
STILLWATER – Fresh off his second straight All-Big 12 campaign, Oklahoma State senior guard Jeffrey Carroll signed a free agent contract with the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Cowboy standout went undrafted in Thursday's NBA Draft, but was scooped up by the Lakers within hours. Carroll averaged a team-best 15.4 points per game, and also posted 6.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 2017-18.
The Lakers were one of a dozen NBA teams Carroll worked out for over the last two months.
Carroll became one of the first pro players to sign an Exhibit 10 contract, which guarantees him a bonus of up to $50,000 is he is cut from the Lakers but signs and plays for their NBA G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers. Carroll would also be eligible to convert that Exhibit 10 contract into a two-way deal that allows him to be called up to the NBA squad for up to 45 days.
Carroll joins his former teammate, Jawun Evans, as former Cowboy standouts in LA. Evans just completed his rookie season with the Los Angeles Clippers after an All-American season at OSU in 2016-17. Evans averaged 4.8 points and 2.1 assists for the Clippers last season.
OSU has begun summer preparations for the 2018-19 season, and season tickets are on sale now starting at just $150. Visit okstate.com/tickets or call 877-ALL-4-OSU for more information.
