Cowgirl Broze Cards Solid 1-Over In NCAA Opening Round

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's Emma Broze shot a 1-over par 73 to finish in a tie for 19th place after the first round of the NCAA Championship at Karsten Creek on Friday.
The senior managed to card two birdies, including a chip-in from the rough on hole 4. Her other birdie came on 13 after her approach shot brought her within five feet of the hole. She finished the last eight holes at 1-under to end the day.
"I kind of struggled with my distance from my iron game," Broze said. "I was kind of far away from the pin but I got some good putts today. It was a good round overall. The course was really tough today. We had a rough wind so one over is good. I have one more round tomorrow to just go as slow as I can."
