Four Cowgirls Selected to NFCA All-Region Teams

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Four members of the Oklahoma State softball team were named to the 2018 National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region Teams, it was announced Thursday morning.
Vanessa Shippy, the 2018 Big 12 Player of the Year, highlights the quartet by earning first-team honors for the third-straight season. Taylor Lynch, Madi Sue Montgomery and Maddi Holcomb were all also selected, with the former two earning their first career first-team nod and the latter collecting second-team honors.
It is the third-straight year that Lynch has been honored by the NFCA, while it marks the second career honor for Montgomery and the first for Holcomb, who is wrapping up her senior season in Stillwater.
Oklahoma State has had at least three players selected to the NFCA All-Region teams in each of Kenny Gajewski's three seasons as head coach. The Cowgirls' 11 selections over the past three years is the largest group of OSU players named in a three-year stretch since 1994-96, when OSU also had 11 players honored as All-Region performers.
