Alexander Featured on SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays
April 20, 2018 | Cowgirl Softball
AUSTIN, Texas – Oklahoma State softball's Chelsea Alexander was featured on SportsCenter's Top 10 plays Friday night, checking in at No. 8 for her diving snag in left field during the opener of a doubleheader against Texas.
Alexander, a freshman, is the second Cowgirl to be featured on ESPN's preeminent program in the last six days. She joins center fielder Maddi Holcomb, who was slotted at No. 2 on April 15 after a home-run robbery of Baylor Shelby Friudenberg.
Friday's highlight-reel play saw Alexander and Holcomb meet each other in the left-center-field gap, where Alexander took matters into her own hands, as she dove to rob Texas shortstop Kaitlyn Slack of a at least a base hit in what was a 1-0 game at that point.
Alexander's diving play is the latest in a growing list of highlights for the freshman this season. She will look to add another Top 10-play to her resume when the Cowgirls chase their fifth-straight Big 12 series win on Sunday against the Longhorns. First pitch at McCombs Field is set for 11 a.m.
