Funk Powers Cowboys Past Kansas In Series Opener

STILLWATER – Christian Funk homered twice and drove in seven runs to lift Oklahoma State to a 12-1 run-rule win over Kansas in seven innings in the opening game of Friday's doubleheader at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium.
Funk's two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning gave OSU (21-14-1) the win. He also had a grand slam in the fourth inning and an RBI double in the third.
The seven RBIs for Funk marked the first time a Cowboy has reached that total in a game since Kevin David drove in seven runs against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on April 14, 2009.
Carson Teel picked up the win on the mound as he recorded a complete game, striking out six in the seven inning effort to improve to 5-2 on the season.
Andrew Rosa and Carson McCusker each had two hits in the contest, with Rosa driving in a pair of runs, and Michael Neustifter delivered his second homer of the season.
