Cowgirls Sweep Every Event on First Day of Competition

WACO, Texas – The Oklahoma State equestrian discipline teams were perfect Wednesday to advance on the opening day of the National Collegiate Equestrian Championships at the Extraco Event Center.
The No. 5 Equitation Over Fences team kicked things off for the Cowgirls and swept No. 12 South Dakota State, 4-0. Carly Barrick, Abigail Brayman, Maggie Drysch and Hannah Janson earned the points for the Cowgirls with Barrick receiving a high score of 168. OSU faces No. 4 SMU on Friday in the quarterfinals.
Next, the No. 4 Horsemanship team built off the earlier momentum and swept No. 13 Minnesota-Crookston, 4-0. Kirsten Chamberland, Libby Collins and Harley Huff won the matchups for the Cowgirls, and Miller earned the high score of 150. The Horsemanship team will face off with No. 5 TCU in Friday's quarterfinals.
The No. 3 Equitation on the Flat team kept the Cowgirls perfect on the day by sweeping No. 14 West Texas A&M, 4-0. Barrick, Brayman and Janson continued their winning ways, while Kendall Pedigo got her first victory. Brayman and Janson had high scores of 158. The Flat team plays No. 6 Delaware State on Thursday in the quarterfinals.
OSU's team play begins Thursday when they take on TCU in the quarterfinals of the NCEA team championship.
