Cowgirls Named to NCEA All-Academic Teams

WACO, Texas – Oklahoma State's equestrian team members had 28 Cowgirls named to the American Quarter Horse Association NCEA Academic Teams and the American Paint Horse Association NCEA Academic Honor Roll, it was announced today.
Four Cowgirls were named to the first team, four held spots on the second team, three were given honorable mentions and 16 were named to the honor roll.
Kirsten Chamberland, Libby Collins, Maggie Drysch, Hannah Janson and Ebba Lange were each named First-Team NCEA All-Academic. Carly Barrick, Maddie Bender, Sarah Miller and Kendall Pedigo snagged spots on the NCEA All-Academic Second Team.
To be eligible for the first team, student-athletes must have competed in a minimum of 70 percent of the school's meets, not including demo or exhibition rides, and earned a cumulative GPA of 3.5 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous spring and fall semesters, respectively. They must have competed in a minimum of 60 percent of the school's meets, not including demo or exhibition rides, and earned a cumulative GPA of 3.25 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous spring and fall semesters, respectively to be eligible for the second team.
Danielle Cohen, Paige Kemper and Julia Purus were OSU honorable mention NCEA All-Academic selections. Honorable mention selections must have competed in a minimum of 50 percent of the school's meets, not including demo or exhibition rides, and earned a cumulative GPA of 3.0 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous spring and fall semesters, respectively.
Mattie Alewine, Kaitlyn Arnold, Mia Bray, Sarah Clymer, Hunter DeJane, Megan Donald, Molly Dunn, Taylor Hickam, Hallie McClintock, Kinsey McDougald, Addie Minnick, Lauren Moorehead, Emily Morris, Matilda Schulman, Emma Verplank and Kristi Wiggins all earned spots on the NCEA All-Academic honor roll. Honor roll selections must have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous spring (2017) and fall (2017) semesters with no competition required.
