Noting Oklahoma State in Bowl Games

MEMPHIS – When Oklahoma State takes on No. 23 Missouri in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl next Monday, the Cowboys will be looking for their fourth win in their last five bowl trips.

Postseason success has been a staple of the Cowboy football program, which owns an 18-10 record in its previous 28 bowl appearances. With a bowl-game winning percentage of 64.3, OSU ranks fourth nationally among schools with a minimum of 20 bowl games played. A look at the national leaders:

Since Mike Gundy took over as head coach in 2005, the Cowboys are 8-4 in bowl games (66.7 win percentage).
Since 2010, OSU has played in four games now referred to as New Year's Six bowls, with the Cowboys playing in the Cotton Bowl in 2010 and 2014, the Fiesta Bowl in 2012 and the Sugar Bowl in 2016. Previously, OSU played in the 1945 Cotton Bowl, the 1946 Sugar Bowl, the 1974 Fiesta Bowl and the 2004 Cotton Bowl.
Gundy has brought home the trophy from seven different bowl games. The only repeat winner is the Alamo Bowl, which OSU won in 2010 and 2016.
During the Gundy era, the Cowboys have toppled several prominent programs in bowl games, including Alabama, Stanford, Washington and Virginia Tech, among others.
OSU's current streak of 13 consecutive years with a bowl game is the longest such streak in the history of the program and ranks as the ninth-longest active streak in the country.
