STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State's women's basketball team defeated Oral Roberts 89-69 on Friday in Gallagher-Iba Arena in front of 2,089 fans to improve to 8-2 on the year.

Leading the way for the Cowgirls was sophomore Vivian Gray who scored 24 points along with four rebounds and fellow sophomore Braxtin Miller scored 23 points of her own along with five rebounds and five assists.

Gray got the Cowgirls rolling in the first quarter ,knocking down her first three shots to help OSU jump out to a 7-2 lead. Â Sophomore Jaden Hobbs got into the mix hitting a trio of threes in the quarter. OSU took a 36-12 lead into the second quarter.

OSU and ORU opened the second quarter trading buckets, but thanks to a put-back layup from freshman Kassidy DeLapp the Cowgirls sparked 19-2. DeLapp scored seven points off of a 3-of-3 shooting effort and grabbed six rebounds in the quarter. DeLapp finished the game with nine points and 10 boards.

Miller hit a pull-up for a 3-pointer at the top of the key to contribute to her seven points in the second quarter as the Cowgirls took a 61-21 lead into halftime.

ORU started the third quarter with a 12-2 run; hitting four 3-pointers, but Miller slowed it down scoring seven points in a row. The Cowgirls were able to get to the charity stripe and took advantage by hitting 9-of-10 free throws and had an 82-48 lead into the fourth quarter.

The Golden Eagles went on 7-0 run to start the fourth quarter, but the Cowgirls answered with a 7-3 run and rode out the clock to seal the win.

OSU will be back on the hardwood to take on Grambling State on Dec. 30 at 1 p.m. in Stillwater.
