STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State's women's basketball team suffered its first loss of the season on Sunday, falling to No. 11 Tennessee by a score of 76-63 inside Gallagher-Iba Arena in front of 3,493 fans.

The Cowgirls (6-1) led the Lady Vols (6-0) 43-40 at the half behind 22 first-half points from sophomore Braxtin Miller. Cowgirl sophomore Jaden Hobbs added nine points in the first half as she was a perfect 3-for-3 from 3-point range in the first half.

Miller finished the game with 29 points, shooting 8-for-17 from the field and going 11-for-16 from the free-throw line. The 29 points were just one point shy of Miller's career high of 30 points, which she scored in the Cowgirls' 60-47 win against Wichita State on November 27.

Tennessee started the second half on an 8-0 run and the Lady Volunteers' defense was able to limit scoring opportunities for the Cowgirls. Tennessee shot 9-of-16 from the field and was able to hold the OSU offense to just six points in the third quarter.

The Cowgirls were able to go on a 12-3 run late in the fourth quarter to narrow the score to 66-61, in favor of Tennessee. Despite the effort from OSU, Tennessee was able to pull back away in the final minutes of the fourth quarter to seal the game.

The Cowgirls will be back in action on Saturday at 7 p.m. when they host Houston Baptist.
