Rioux Advances at ITA Fall Championships

SURPRISE, Ariz. – Oklahoma State's Lisa Marie Rioux is moving on to the round of 32 at the Oracle ITA Fall Championships after defeating Pennsylvania's Luliia Bryzgalova on Wednesday.
The Cowgirl bested Bryzgalova in a first-set tiebreaker but dropped the second and fell behind in the third before mounting a comeback. Rioux saved three match points in the third set and rallied from four points down to get a 7-6(3), 1-6, 7-5 victory.
No. 16 seeded Sofia Blanco and Rioux were upended in the doubles bracket, suffering a loss to the University of North Texas' Maria Kononova and Tamuna Kutubidze, 7-5, 6-1.
Rioux is set to take on Virginia's Meghan Kelly on Thursday in singles action at 12:00 p.m. local time.
