ESPN's Holly Rowe to Speak at Diamond Club Banquet
November 19, 2018 | Cowgirl Softball
STILLWATER – Longtime ESPN reporter Holly Rowe will feature as the keynote speaker at the Oklahoma State softball team's annual Diamond Club banquet, which takes place Feb. 2 at the ConocoPhillips OSU Alumni Center.
Rowe has been an ESPN regular since August 1998, and primarily covers college football, men's and women's basketball, softball, volleyball and gymnastics, among a variety of other events. She also plays a role in espnW's coverage of the sports she works on, and continues to serve as the reporter for the Women's Final Four.
"Our Diamond Club banquet continues to be a marquee event for our program," coach Kenny Gajewski said. "It's an awesome opportunity to have Holly Rowe come speak to our group. She is an inspiration to female athletes and she's an inspiration to me as a male coach. To have the opportunity to get her on our campus, in a different role besides announcing, and to speak and talk to our group, I think is a home run. We are super thrilled that she'll be here."
Rowe will join her ESPN colleague and two-time Olympic gold medalist Michele Smith, two-time Olympian Lauren Bay and legendary OSU softball coach Sandy Fischer as some of the prominent figures to serve as the keynote speaker at the Cowgirls' annual banquet.
Those interested in attending the event can purchase their tables now by contacting Wes Ulm (P: 405-744-4655, E: wes.ulm@okstate.edu). Tickets can also be purchased through the OSU ticket office, by clicking here.
Each table, which seats nine plus a student-athlete, costs $750. Also up for purchase is the VIP table, where Holly Rowe will sit, for $7,500. Coach Gajewski's table will be priced at $2,500, and $1,500 to sit with one of the OSU assistant coaches.
Individual tickets will go on sale at a later date for $75 per person.
The banquet starts at 4 p.m. on Feb. 2. Prior to the start of the event though, the Cowgirls will be hosting a special meet-and-greet with Rowe beginning at 2 p.m. Tickets for the social event are $100 per person.
"The Diamond Club is obviously important to our program in raising money, raising awareness to our brand and I think that it speaks loudly that we can continue to get the kind of people in here to come show them what we have and what we're all about," Gajewski said. "It's a very important day and it's a very important time of the year, as we're a week out from playing our first games. It creates the momentum that you like to have going into the year, so it should be a great night."
