STILLWATER – Maddie Hartley, a second team All-Big 12 selection in 2026, has signed with Oklahoma State Softball.
A utility player with infield and pitching experience, Hartley joins the Cowgirls with two years of eligibility remaining after spending her first two seasons at Houston.
"We are excited about the signing of Maddie in Orange and Black," head coach Kenny Gajewski said. "We feel like the surface has just begun to be scratched. She had an amazing year in the Big 12 last year and we are excited about her future as a Cowgirl! Maddie fits The Cowgirl Way."
Hartley batted .303 with a 1.087 OPS for the Cougars, adding 25 home runs, 75 RBIs and 63 runs scored. She also logged 49 innings of work across 29 career pitching appearances.
Hartley tied for third in the Big 12 with 20 home runs in 2026. She led the team in batting average (.345), home runs (20), RBIs (47), walks (34), total bases (120), on-base percentage (.486), slugging percentage (.828) and OPS (1.314), and was one of just four players to appear in all 51 of Houston's games. Softball America ranked her as the No. 9 utility player in the nation.
"I'm honored to have the opportunity to continue my softball career at Oklahoma State," Hartley said. "From the moment I stepped on campus, it felt like home. I'm excited to compete for such a great program, be a part of an amazing team, and represent Cowgirl Softball."
As a freshman in 2025, Hartley made 46 starts and finished with an .845 OPS and nine multi-hit games. Hartley also found success in the circle as a reliever, throwing 41 innings over 23 appearances. She went 3-2 with a 4.95 ERA.
A graduate of Georgetown High School in Georgetown, Texas, Hartley slashed .409/.476/.769 and tossed 258 innings for the Eagles, posting a 33-5 record, 2.06 ERA and 339 strikeouts. In 2022, Hartley was named a second team All-American by Extra Inning Softball and earned spots on both the Texas All-Star and all-state teams.
Hartley is the second transfer to sign with Oklahoma State ahead of the upcoming 2027 season, joining catcher Kennedy Proctor (Utah).
