STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State's women's basketball team defeated Prairie View A&M 70-50 on Thursday in front of 1,572 fans in Gallagher-Iba Arena., improving to 3-0 on the year.

The Cowgirls got off to a slow start offensively. OSU hit just seven of its 31 shot attempts in the first half of the game, but was able to hold the Lady Panthers to a 5-of-31 effort.

In the third quarter, sophomore Vivian Gray got the offense rolling for the Cowgirls. Gray shot a perfect 5-for-5 from the field and racked up 15 points in the period. OSU scored 28 in the quarter

Gray finished the night with 23 points along with eight boards, three steals and two blocks.

Junior Mariam Gnanou got her first start of the season and was able to capitalize. Gnanou chalked up 16 points, grabbed nine boards and protected the rim with three blocks in the contest.

The Cowgirls were dominant down in the paint grabbing 52 rebounds and scored 30 points in the paint, 23 of those points coming from second chance opportunities.

OSU will be back in Gallahger-Iba Arena on Nov. 21 at 12 p.m. to take on Samford.
