Cowgirls Wrap up Play at ITA All-American Championships

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. –Cowgirls Sofia Blanco and Lisa Marie Rioux completed doubles play on Saturday at the ITA All-American Championships, falling to Stanford's Caroline Lample and Kimberly Yee, 6-7(1), 6-3, 12-10, in the semifinals.
Teammates Katie Stresnakova and Marina Guinart finished play earlier this week, with Stresnakova falling short in the round of sixteen after going perfect through pre-qualifying and qualifying rounds.
"Overall it was a great week for the girls," coach Chris Young said. "To win 16 of 21 matches is a good gauge of where we are at compared to the best programs nationally and a sign of the development happening within the program. It is disappointing for Sofi and Lisa to come up short today but a great opportunity to learn from and improve."
The tournament marked the second competition of the fall season for the Cowgirls. They return to action next week at the ITA Regional Championships in Iowa City, Iowa.
