Cowgirl Softball Extends Unbeaten Fall Run

STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State softball team extended its unbeaten fall season Wednesday with a come-from-behind 8-6 victory over North Texas at Cowgirl Stadium.
The Cowgirls were held scoreless through the first five frames of Wednesday's matchup, but erupted for eight runs over the next four frames to tackle the Mean Green.
Samantha Show handled starting duties in the the circle for Oklahoma State and was dominant in her two innings of work. Show faced eight batters, striking out six of those and the two who reached base only did so because of defensive errors.
The Texas A&M transfer has pitched five no-hit innings across OSU's last two fall contests, striking out 13 of the 17 batters she faced in that timespan.
Show played a pivotal role in Oklahoma State's five-run sixth inning that saw the Cowgirls dig from a 3-0 deficit and push their way out to a 5-3 lead. After two UNT throwing errors scored the first pair of OSU runs Wednesday, Rylee Bayless, Show and Michaela Richbourg all notched RBI doubles to give the Cowgirls their first lead of the game.
Bayless recorded another RBI in the bottom of the seventh inning, blasting a solo home run the cleared the center-field wall to give OSU a 7-3 advantage. She finished 2-for-4 at the plate Wednesday with two runs scored and two RBI.
Oklahoma State will continue its fall season this Friday with a road trip east where the Cowgirls will square off with Tulsa. First pitch against the Golden Hurricane is set for 5 p.m. CT.
