Blanco Falls in Regional Semifinals

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Oklahoma State tennis' Sofia Blanco came up short in Tuesday's ITA Central Regional semifinals match to the University of Kansas' Janet Koch.
Blanco lost in two sets, 6-4, 7-6(1). She was the second Cowgirl Koch eliminated from play in Iowa City, as Lisa Marie Rioux fell to the Jayhawk in the quarterfinals.
"I'm really proud of Sofi's effort this week," coach Chris Young said. "It's nice to see her step up as a senior and be the only play to make the semifinals in singles and doubles. We're excited to focus on more development as the fall continues."
Next up on the schedule for OSU is the Lawrence 25k Nov. 4, just before wrapping up the fall season at the ITA Fall National Championships in Surprise, Ariz.
